Here’s to a land of biochemical orange goop, humongoid mushrooms, and overpriced coffee!

Upon arrival, some nice gentleman escorted us to a distant office in order to inspect our mental and physical state. Once he judged that we stood somewhere above the minimum level of sanity required to live in Canada he offered us the most “Canadian” items he could find. The welcome package consisted of a sugary orange biochemical goop called Sunny-D and of some humongous sticky brown mushrooms that came in a pack of six, though there were only four of us.

Tales from the Promised Land

Though I’ve taken the airplane multiple times prior to setting off to the Promised Land, I had never been on a flight longer than 45 minutes. Eleven hours on the plane seemed like torture, so we were truly happy to arrive at our destination. However, as luck will have it, our flight was diverted to Montreal rather than landing in Ottawa as planned. We landed in the black of night and without a clue of where we were, who would greet us, and where we would be going next.
